Tel Aviv, February 25: Daniel Rubenstein, former social media advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has commented on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to Israel. He emphasized that the personal relationship between Prime Minister Netanyahu and PM Modi is both strong and significant.
Rubenstein described Modi’s visit as historic, noting that it will mark the first time an Indian Prime Minister addresses the Israeli parliament. Since Modi’s last visit to Israel a decade ago, bilateral relations have advanced in various sectors, including defense, trade, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism.
He stated, “I believe that the personal relationship between Prime Minister Netanyahu and Prime Minister Modi is very strong and important, as it shapes the direction of relations at every other level of government. When we see that Netanyahu and Modi maintain good relations and are comfortable spending time together, it has a positive impact.”
Rubenstein highlighted that India, a democratic nation located near the Indian Ocean, and Israel, also a democratic country near the Mediterranean Sea, have vast opportunities for trade and development through mutual partners in the region. He pointed out the immense potential for collaboration in areas such as shipping, connectivity, and artificial intelligence. “I hope this visit is just the beginning of such relations,” he added.
While Rubenstein did not disclose specific agreements that might be discussed, he spoke about the existing possibilities. He noted that both India and Israel are democratic nations living in challenging neighborhoods, which necessitates a strong focus on defense. Despite being a small country, Israel has a significant defense sector, and he is confident that defense cooperation will be a topic of discussion.
He remarked, “Any new agreement for strong defense relations between India and Israel will send a message to our friends and adversaries. Anyone looking to enhance cooperation with Israel or India will be welcomed, while those who stand against us will face consequences. I know that the people of India and Israel understand the threat of terrorism well, as both countries have faced major terrorist attacks in recent years.”
