New Delhi, June 15: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal stated on Monday that as India advances towards becoming a ‘developed nation’, its partnership with France is unlocking new avenues for co-innovation and technological progress. This collaboration is promoting technologies and solutions that will benefit not only both countries but the entire world.
Goyal made these remarks during a dinner with key leaders from government, industry, innovation, and investment sectors in Nice, France, alongside the city’s mayor, Eric Ciotti, marking the end of a “productive day.”
In a post on the social media platform X, Goyal noted, “Against the backdrop of the India-France Innovation Year, this evening served as an excellent platform for exchanging ideas and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in trade, technology, and emerging sectors.”
Meanwhile, the government emphasized that India’s vision of ‘Developed India 2047’ and France’s ‘France 2030’ mission provide a solid foundation for future-focused innovation partnerships. This will also enhance investment opportunities in new and disruptive technologies.
To this end, India and France have decided to adopt the India-France Innovation Roadmap 2030. This roadmap will guide the co-development of critical and emerging technologies, strengthen a reliable technological ecosystem, enhance mobility in education and research, and achieve tangible outcomes for people, the environment, and shared prosperity.
Both nations view innovation as a cornerstone for economic strength, sustainable development, strategic autonomy, and technological and industrial sovereignty.
According to an official statement, both countries believe that a robust innovation partnership will harness their full innovative potential and aid in addressing global challenges.
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi departed for Slovakia, concluding the first phase of his visit to France.
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced on social media that “after a successful trip to Nice, France, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for Bratislava. During this visit, several bilateral agreements were made, focusing on innovation and future technologies.”
On Sunday, Prime Minister Modi held talks with French President Emmanuel Macron, discussing deepening cooperation in several key areas between the two nations.
