
Mumbai, June 7: A shocking incident unfolded in Kurar Appa Pada, Mumbai, where a daylight stabbing resulted in the death of a young man and left three others seriously injured.
According to police reports, the incident occurred when Akash and his brother were heading to a juice stall near the Appa Pada rickshaw stand. Two suspects, Surendra and Mahendra Mishra, attempted to rob a young man by reaching into his pocket. When Akash intervened, one of the assailants suddenly attacked him with a knife, leading to Akash’s tragic death.
In the chaos, Akash’s brother also became a target, suffering multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and chest, leaving him critically injured. The incident caused panic in the area, prompting local residents to immediately alert the police and ambulance services. Authorities arrived promptly to assist the injured and transport them to the hospital.
Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, the Kurar police acted swiftly, apprehending two suspects so far. Investigators are currently interrogating the suspects and probing the motives behind the attack.
The police are reviewing nearby CCTV footage and gathering statements from eyewitnesses to piece together the events leading up to the stabbing.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to uncover the reasons behind the attack and identify any additional individuals involved.
In the aftermath of the incident, the victim’s family and local residents expressed their outrage by staging a protest outside the Kurar police station. Despite police efforts to disperse the crowd, demonstrators blocked the road, leading to a tense standoff. Eventually, police managed to calm the situation. To further the investigation, the police have formed three dedicated teams.
