Sri Lankas Foreign Minister Arrives in New Delhi for Raisina Dialogue 2026

New Delhi, March 5: Sri Lanka’s Foreign Minister and Minister of Foreign Employment and Tourism, Wijitha Herath, arrived in New Delhi on Thursday to participate in the Raisina Dialogue 2026.

The spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, welcomed him on the social media platform X, stating, “We warmly welcome Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, Wijitha Herath, upon his arrival to participate in the Raisina Dialogue 2026. India and Sri Lanka share a close and multifaceted partnership, rooted in deep connections between our peoples.”

The 11th edition of the Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship conference on geopolitical and geo-economic issues, commenced on Thursday in New Delhi, bringing together leaders, policymakers, and strategic experts from around the world.

Launched in 2016, the Raisina Dialogue has emerged as India’s leading platform for discussions on international affairs. The three-day conference, organized by the Observer Research Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), gathers heads of state, ministers, academics, industry leaders, and think tank members to address global challenges.

In recent years, the dialogue has featured significant discussions on shifting geopolitical equations, climate concerns, technological changes, economic resilience, and the future of the global governance framework.

This forum serves as a platform for debate and collaboration on issues shaping the international order. The 2026 edition is themed ‘Culture, Claim, Coordination, Progress,’ reflecting the current global moment.

The organizers stated, “Culture is the heritage of identity that helps civilizations understand who they are, embrace differences, and move forward through reform,” emphasizing the philosophical foundation of this year’s discussions.

Earlier, Seychelles’ Foreign Minister and Diaspora Barry Fore arrived in New Delhi to attend the Raisina Dialogue. Finnish President Alexander Stubb also arrived on Wednesday for an official visit to India and will participate as the chief guest at the dialogue. The United States will be represented by Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau.
