Shocking Murder of Elderly Man in Jharkhands Palamu District

Ranchi, March 22: A shocking incident has emerged from the Panki police area in Jharkhand’s Palamu district, where an elderly man was brutally murdered by unknown assailants. Rajdev Paswan, a 58-year-old resident of Kerki village in the Mardan Panchayat, was shot dead in the forest on Sunday while he was out collecting Mahua, a local fruit.

The incident has instilled fear in the entire region. According to reports, Rajdev left his home for the forest on Friday morning. When he did not return for an extended period, his family grew concerned and began searching for him. During their search, they discovered his lifeless body, soaked in blood, deep within the woods, leading to chaos among his family members.

The family promptly informed the Panki police about the incident. Given the sensitive nature of the case, a police team quickly arrived at the scene and began their investigation, securing the body for further examination. There is significant anger among the family and local residents, who are demanding swift action from law enforcement to apprehend the criminals and increase patrols in the area.

As of now, the motives behind the murder remain unclear. Police believe it may be a premeditated killing. They are thoroughly investigating all possible angles, including personal disputes or other conflicts. The station chief stated that inquiries are being conducted with locals near the crime scene, and raids have commenced at suspected hideouts to capture the assailants.

Authorities have claimed that they will resolve the case soon. Meanwhile, the body has been sent to Medinirai Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
