Delhi Police Arrest Two Mobile Thieves, Recover Stolen Phones

New Delhi, March 29: The Ghazipur police in East Delhi have arrested two suspects involved in a mobile theft case. Authorities recovered two stolen mobile phones from the accused.

According to police officials, the complainant, Vijender Singh, reported that he had placed his phones at home after returning from the market. However, just an hour later, the phones were stolen from his residence. Vijender works as a gardener.

The police registered an FIR and initiated an investigation into the theft. During the inquiry, the stolen phones were found to be switched off. Under the guidance of the Ghazipur station house officer and the ACP of Madhubihar, a special team was formed, including Head Constable Ajit and Constable Manish Kumar. The team promptly reviewed footage from 25 to 30 nearby CCTV cameras. Analysis of the footage revealed suspicious activities of two individuals at the time of the incident.

Using informants and human intelligence, the police identified the suspects as Naman, also known as Ashish, and Yogendra. Although both fled their homes, the police apprehended them within hours while they were out in plain clothes.

During interrogation, the suspects initially attempted to mislead the police. However, after rigorous questioning, they confessed to the theft. Both stolen mobile phones were recovered based on their disclosures.

Among the arrested, Yogendra is a habitual offender, involved in 16 criminal cases, including theft, robbery, and attempted murder, and has been convicted in one case. Naman, on the other hand, is reportedly unemployed and struggling with drug addiction.

The police are now focused on further investigations and are examining the suspects’ other criminal connections. Officials stated that these criminals are quite cunning, often committing thefts when no one is home, and have been incarcerated in several cases previously.
