Thane, June 22: A disturbing incident has emerged from Thane, adjacent to Mumbai, where two individuals have been arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl. Thanks to the vigilance of neighbors, the girl’s life was saved, and both suspects were handed over to the police.
The incident occurred in the Kalyan area of Thane. The accused are alleged to have lured the minor girl to their home and then assaulted her. Neighbors heard the girl crying and immediately alerted the police. Authorities arrived on the scene and rescued the girl from her captors.
The Kolsewadi police in Thane have filed a case against both suspects and made the arrests. The arrested individuals have been identified as Akhtar Maniyar and Salim Sheikh. Maniyar runs a tea stall in Kalyan, while Sheikh works as an auto-rickshaw driver.
According to police reports, the minor victim was scavenging for scrap when Maniyar lured her to his home. Once inside, he called his friend Salim Sheikh, and together they sexually assaulted the girl.
This shocking incident came to light on Sunday morning when neighbors heard the girl’s cries from Maniyar’s house. They promptly informed the police.
Upon arrival, the Kolsewadi police forced entry and rescued the girl, sending her to the hospital for medical assistance. Both suspects were taken into custody at the scene. The local community is outraged by the incident and is demanding strict action against the perpetrators.
