Pune, June 22: A minor girl who went missing from the Kondhwa area of Pune has been safely rescued by the police in Jhakhand’s Tatanagar. The case took a dramatic turn when unknown individuals made a video call to the girl’s father, claiming they had his daughter and demanded money for her release.

According to police reports, a resident of Kondhwa Budruk, originally from Bihar, filed a complaint on June 18 regarding his 17-year-old daughter’s disappearance. He stated that an unidentified person had lured his daughter away. Following this, a kidnapping case was registered at the Kondhwa police station.

During the investigation, the police were searching for the girl based on CCTV footage and other clues. Meanwhile, the girl’s father received a video call from the alleged kidnappers. They claimed to have his daughter and sent him a UPI scanner, demanding money.

Upon receiving this information, the Kondhwa police alerted senior officials. Recognizing the seriousness of the situation, Pune police quickly deployed special teams for the investigation.

During their inquiry, police discovered that the girl was on the Azad Hind Express train heading towards Howrah from Pune. They contacted railway officials, who informed them that the train was approaching Tatanagar station.

The railway police and train staff were immediately contacted, and with their assistance, the girl was located on the train and safely taken into custody. Subsequently, a team from Kondhwa police and the girl’s family traveled to Tatanagar to bring her back home safely.

Additionally, a separate case has been registered at the Kondhwa police station against the unknown individuals who made the extortion video call. The police are actively working to identify and apprehend them.
