Shocking Incident in Pune: Son Allegedly Kills Mother Over Money for Alcohol

Pune, August 30: A shocking incident has emerged from Pune’s Vishrantwadi, where a 32-year-old man allegedly murdered his mother during a dispute over money for alcohol. The Vishrantwadi police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code and have arrested the accused.

According to police reports, the incident occurred between 9:30 PM and 10 PM on Saturday night. The accused, Sagar, reportedly asked his mother for money to buy alcohol, leading to a heated argument between them. The altercation escalated, and Sagar allegedly attacked his mother with a knife, striking her in the neck. She died on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Savita Suresh Haribhakt, aged 50, while the accused is her son, Sagar Suresh Haribhakt, aged 32.

Senior Police Inspector Rajendra Panhale of the Vishrantwadi police station confirmed the incident. Authorities noted that the accused has some psychological and behavioral issues. The investigation is ongoing.

In a related incident, a 17-year-old student in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district reportedly committed suicide on Raksha Bandhan. He had posted emotional messages for his sister and parents on social media. The deceased has been identified as Rohit Sahebarav Dhangar, an 11th-grade student in the arts stream.

Reports indicate that Rohit lost money while playing an online game. He had sent a video message to a friend about this issue. However, by the time the friend reached Rohit’s home, he had allegedly hanged himself.
