Gorakhpur, June 20: A horrifying incident has emerged from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, that has left humanity in shock. A nine-month-old baby girl, reported missing, was found in critical condition near a field. Initial investigations suggest she may have been sexually assaulted. The police acted swiftly, apprehending the suspect.
The incident occurred in the Gulriha police station area, where panic ensued after the baby was discovered approximately 500 meters from her home, unconscious in a tin shed. Her clothing was disheveled, and her condition was dire. News of the incident spread quickly, igniting outrage throughout the community.
According to family members, the baby was sleeping in her bed around 2 AM on Friday night. When the family awoke later, she was missing. They searched throughout the night but found no clues. On Saturday morning, local villagers heading to the fields spotted the baby in the tin shed and immediately alerted the police.
Upon arrival, the police transported the baby to a community health center. After initial treatment, her serious condition warranted a referral to a medical college. The baby’s mother is devastated, expressing fears of the horrific ordeal her child may have faced.
Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the police launched an immediate investigation. They questioned nearby residents and gathered evidence, leading them to a young man related to the family, identified as the baby’s uncle. He was taken into custody for questioning. Significant evidence emerged during the investigation, resulting in his arrest.
City SP Nimish Patil reported that police received information around 6:30 AM on Saturday about the abduction and assault of the nine-month-old girl. Upon receiving the report, police quickly responded, arriving at the scene and ensuring the baby received medical attention, where her condition has since stabilized.
The SP confirmed that evidence collected from the scene and testimonies from locals led to the arrest of the individual, who is believed to be the baby’s uncle. During intense questioning, he confessed to the crime, admitting that he had taken the baby from her home in a drunken state and assaulted her in a nearby field. The police are now focused on further legal proceedings based on these findings.
