During the altercation, the man allegedly slapped the woman, leading to a physical confrontation between the two parties. In the video, the woman can be heard calling for police intervention. She claims that the assailant identified himself as an employee of the Ganga Sabha.
The victim has filed a complaint with the police, demanding strict action against the young man. She stated that she has been in Haridwar for the past 15 days for religious rituals and prayers. The incident raises serious concerns, especially in a place known for its spiritual significance.
The assault at this revered site, which attracts millions of devotees, has left many worried. The victim, Kranti Gupta, shared that she arrived from Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, on May 15.
She mentioned that she is in Haridwar for a month during the auspicious month of Adhik Maas. Every day, she visits the Jagannath Swami temple at Har Ki Pauri, where a Peepal tree and a statue of Lord Shiva are located.
Kranti Gupta, approximately 64 years old and a retired principal of an inter-college, accused the young man of inappropriate touching, disturbing her faith, and physical assault. She is demanding strict action against him. The incident reportedly occurred around 4:30 AM, with her sister present at the time.
