Bareilly, May 5: In a disturbing incident from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a shocking case of blackmail under the guise of a gym has come to light. On Tuesday, police arrested two individuals involved in an organized gang that targeted women visiting the gym.
The arrests were made in the Kotwali police station area, where gym operator Akbar Beg and his accomplice Alam Beg were taken into custody.
According to police reports, the accused would administer a narcotic substance to women under the pretext of offering a pre-workout drink, rendering them unconscious. They would then film explicit videos of the victims in a room within the gym. These videos were used to blackmail the women into paying large sums of money.
Investigations revealed that the gang demanded millions from the victims, threatening to release the videos if they did not comply. Following a complaint from one of the victims, police registered a case and swiftly apprehended both suspects.
During the arrests, authorities seized ₹10,000 in cash, two mobile phones, and other incriminating materials related to the incident. Police officials stated that the seriousness of the case warranted ongoing investigations to determine how many other women may have fallen victim to this gang.
Currently, both accused are facing charges under relevant sections of the law, and further legal action is underway.
