Shocking Abduction and Assault of Four-Year-Old Girl at Pune Railway Station

Pune, February 22: A distressing incident has emerged from Pune Railway Station, where a four-year-old girl was abducted and sexually assaulted. The Pune Railway Police have registered a case and arrested the suspect, who is now in judicial custody.

According to police reports, the victim’s family hails from Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, and had arrived in Pune by train. On February 17, around 1:30 AM, the family was resting on Platform Number 3 after having a meal when the girl’s father went to the restroom. Upon his return, he discovered that his daughter was missing.

The family immediately searched the area, but when they could not find her, they filed a complaint at the railway police station. Upon receiving the complaint, police reviewed the station’s CCTV footage, which clearly showed a man leading the girl away by holding her hand.

Initial investigations revealed that the suspect was assisting passengers with their luggage after disembarking from the train. The police quickly launched a search operation and apprehended the suspect within the railway premises. Reports indicate that he is a resident of Balaghat, Madhya Pradesh.

During police interrogation, the girl disclosed that the suspect had lured her away with promises of food. Following this, she suffered severe abuse. Blood stains were found on her clothing, and she complained of abdominal pain. She has since been admitted to a hospital for immediate medical examination.

A case of abduction and sexual assault has been registered under Sections 137(2) and 65(2) of the Indian Penal Code 2023. The case was officially logged at 1:38 PM on February 17. The suspect was presented in court and has been remanded to 14 days of judicial custody.

The railway police are continuing their investigation, and officials have stated that enhanced security measures will be implemented at the railway station.
