Itawa, September 16 (Daily Kiran) : Shivpal Yadav, a prominent leader of the Samajwadi Party (SP), expressed his admiration for his nephew, Akhilesh Yadav, who has recently taken over as the head of the Lohia Trust. Speaking at an event in Itawa, Shivpal highlighted that no other leader in Uttar Pradesh possesses Akhilesh’s modern perspective on development.
“I have witnessed numerous parties in Uttar Pradesh, but none have a vision for modern development like Akhilesh Yadav,” Shivpal stated while addressing reporters. He noted that he had called a meeting where he proposed Akhilesh’s name for the position, which was later approved.
Shivpal expressed confidence that under Akhilesh’s leadership, the Lohia Trust could thrive and effectively disseminate the ideas of Ram Manohar Lohia to the public. He believes this will strengthen both the Lohia Trust and the Samajwadi Party.
Responding to remarks made by UP minister Om Prakash Rajbhar, who suggested that Akhilesh no longer trusts his uncle due to past political differences, Shivpal dismissed the claims, stating, “He (Rajbhar) is scared.” Rajbhar’s comments referenced Shivpal’s previous departure from the SP and his brief association with the BJP before forming the Progressive Samajwadi Party Lohia (PSPL).
Rajbhar recalled that during his time with the SP, Shivpal publicly criticized the party, alleging it had become a haven for “thieves and goons.” He pointed out that Shivpal’s past accusations regarding land grabs by party members have made it difficult for Akhilesh to place his trust in him.
Additionally, UP minister Anil Rajbhar also criticized Akhilesh, claiming he lacks trust in others and even in himself.
In a broader political context, Shivpal asserted that the current state of governance in Uttar Pradesh under the NDA alliance is evident, citing rampant extortion, bribery, and corruption. He confidently predicted that the Samajwadi Party would reclaim power in the 2027 elections.
