Hajipur, October 11 (Daily Kiran) : In Hajipur, on October 11, Prashant Kishor, founder of the Jan Suraj movement, addressed a gathering of teachers during a dialogue event. He emphasized that this election, voters will focus not on political parties but on the future of their children, employment opportunities, and the challenges faced by educators. Kishor stated that Jan Suraj is committed to ensuring that teachers receive the seventh pay scale before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Kishor highlighted discussions among teachers in Vaishali district about how to secure this pay scale. He asserted that this vote is not merely about forming or dismissing a government; rather, it is about holding the current administration accountable.
“This vote is for ensuring that teachers receive the seventh pay scale,” he declared. He also called for a resolution to the long-standing issue of unpaid teachers and urged for jobs for educated youth facing unemployment. Kishor mentioned the success of Jan Suraj’s candidate, Engineer Mohan, and promised that if elected, they would be responsible for providing jobs to at least 10,000 educated youth in the Tirhut region based on their qualifications.
Kishor advocated for the same level of facilities for graduates in Tirhut as those available in Bankipur. He urged teachers to vote with their rights and the future of their children in mind. Criticizing Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi for his derogatory remarks about protestors, Kishor pointed out that such language does not resonate with the public.
He remarked that the discontent regarding education, paper leaks, unemployment, and the electoral process is manifesting in public protests. Kishor argued that the government cannot suppress this discontent through force. While temporary deployments of military and police may restrict movement, they cannot quell the protests.
He claimed that the extensive presence of police and paramilitary forces is indicative of both the strength of the protests and the government’s concerns. Until the government takes concrete and credible actions on fundamental issues like education, unemployment, and electoral reform, protests will continue unabated.
