Netanyahu Condemns Houthi Attack at Riyadh Airport, Calls for Strong Response to Terrorism

Riyadh, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has strongly condemned the recent terrorist attacks at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He stated that the aim of terrorism is to instill fear, and it must be confronted with strength and determination.

In a post on the social media platform X, Netanyahu expressed his outrage over the horrific attack that resulted in the deaths of 12 innocent people and left hundreds injured. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.

Netanyahu further remarked that terrorism always targets innocent individuals, seeking to spread fear and undermine stability. He called for a robust and resolute response, expressing Israel’s hope for a strong Middle East that stands united against threats, ensuring the safety of its people and fostering a future filled with security, cooperation, and prosperity for all in the region.

U.S. President Donald Trump described the attack as a “tragic event” and mentioned his intention to speak with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. However, as of Sunday evening, no official details had been released regarding their conversation.

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation reported that the attack on Saturday afternoon led to 12 fatalities and 309 injuries. Among the deceased were four Saudi nationals and eight foreign residents, including two from Bangladesh, along with individuals from the U.S., Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan. The injured are receiving treatment in various hospitals, with some in critical condition.

The Iran-backed Houthi group, which controls large areas of northern Yemen, has intensified its attacks on Saudi airports, military bases, and oil facilities since the commencement of a Saudi-led military operation earlier this month.
