Severe Heatwave Alert Issued for NCR Over Next Three Days

Noida, May 19: The National Capital Region (NCR) is experiencing a significant rise in temperatures. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), residents will face a heatwave and intense hot winds for the next three days.

The latest forecast warns of heatwave conditions from May 19 to May 22. During the day, scorching sunlight and hot winds will increase discomfort, while nighttime temperatures are also expected to rise, leaving little hope for relief from the heat.

On May 19, the maximum temperature is predicted to reach 44 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius. The afternoon and evening will see continued heatwave conditions accompanied by strong surface winds.

The department has clearly warned that venturing outdoors during the afternoon could be harmful to health. No relief is expected on May 20, with maximum temperatures again hitting 44 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius.

Warnings of ongoing heatwave conditions during the afternoon and evening have been issued. The relentless hot winds will subject residents to the harsh effects of the heat. Even with a slight drop in temperature on May 21, the heat will persist, with maximum temperatures around 43 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius. The IMD indicates that heatwave conditions will continue during the afternoon and evening. Humidity levels may range from 50% to 35%, adding to the discomfort. Similar conditions are expected on May 22.

The IMD forecasts a maximum temperature of 43 degrees and a minimum of 27 degrees Celsius, with hot winds expected throughout the day. However, a change in weather may occur from May 23, with mostly clear skies anticipated. Currently, the air quality index (AQI) remains stable, not reaching severe levels. Nonetheless, experts advise children, the elderly, and those with health issues to take special precautions. Doctors recommend staying hydrated, avoiding direct sunlight, and maintaining hydration to prevent heat-related illnesses and dehydration.
