Seven Residents from Andhra Pradesh Missing in Nepal Floods; 34 Safe

Amaravati, August 27: Seven individuals from Andhra Pradesh are currently unaccounted for following severe flooding in Nepal, while 34 others have been reported safe.

Four people from the Kurnool-Adoni area are confirmed safe in Tibet. Additionally, 28 pilgrims from the Tirupati region are secure in Kathmandu, with communication established through the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS).

Authorities have reported that the missing individuals hail from Chittoor, Vijayawada, Kakinada, and Guntur. Among the seven missing, three were part of a pilgrimage to Mansarovar organized by the Isha Foundation. Their phones are currently switched off.

Officials have been providing regular updates to the affected families. A control room has been set up at the AP Bhavan in New Delhi to monitor the situation. The government is maintaining consistent coordination with the central government and the Indian embassies in Kathmandu and China.

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been informed that several pilgrims from Andhra Pradesh are trapped in the floods in Nepal. Efforts to gather information about their safety and whereabouts are ongoing.

Naidu reviewed the situation of the stranded residents with officials, who briefed him on the relief and rescue operations conducted so far. He instructed officials to coordinate through all possible means to ensure the safety and well-being of those trapped in Nepal.

He also directed that continuous efforts be made to locate those who remain unaccounted for and to inform their families without delay. Naidu emphasized the importance of maintaining ongoing coordination with the central government and Indian diplomatic missions.

He instructed that steps be taken to restore road and air connectivity and to implement safe evacuation routes wherever necessary. The Chief Minister made it clear that bringing back the Andhra Pradesh residents facing difficulties in Nepal should be the top priority. He urged all relevant departments to work in close coordination.

Naidu also ensured that families receive timely updates, that the situation is monitored closely, and that they are kept informed of the latest developments.
