Prime Minister Modi pays tribute to Goddess Durga with a Sanskrit verse, emphasizing her power and the importance of collective welfare.

New Delhi, October 12 (Daily Kiran) : Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to social media on Monday to share a Sanskrit verse that highlights the power of Goddess Bhagwati, coinciding with the second day of Navratri. ,” translates to a heartfelt tribute to the supreme power that governs the universe, which encompasses the strengths of all deities.
This shloka is sourced from the fourth chapter of the Shri Durga Saptashati, specifically the Indra’s praise. It is revered as a potent mantra for collective welfare, world protection, and the attainment of peace and prosperity. The verse recalls the moment when Goddess Durga vanquished the buffalo demon Mahishasura, prompting Indra and the other gods to praise her, signifying their relief and joy.
The essence of the verse underscores the unity of divine power and the reverence owed to the Goddess, who is worshipped by all deities and sages. It invites blessings for the well-being of all.
On this particular day of Navratri, devotees honor the second form of the Goddess, Brahmacharini. She is depicted in white attire, symbolizing purity and radiance, holding a rosary in her right hand and a water pot in her left. Known by various names such as Tapascharini and Uma, her worship is believed to enhance self-discipline, renunciation, virtue, and inner strength.
