Mumbai, May 17: In a touching moment shared on Farooq Sheikh’s chat show “Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai,” late actor Sunil Dutt recounted a heartfelt incident involving his son, Sanjay Dutt.
In a vintage clip from the show, Sunil Dutt narrated, “Once, we attended a wedding in Delhi during the winter season. Nargis (Sanjay’s mother) had bought a nice jacket for Sanjay. While at the wedding, he noticed a boy standing outside in the cold. He came inside, unable to enjoy the food. When Nargis asked what was wrong, Sanjay said, ‘There’s a boy outside who is very cold. I want to give him my jacket.'”
Sunil Dutt revealed that he accompanied Sanjay outside to give the jacket to the needy boy. This act of kindness filled Sunil Dutt with pride for his son’s sensitivity.
Sanjay Dutt also shared his experiences of working with his father on the show. He recalled that during the filming of his debut movie “Rocky,” Sunil Dutt was quite strict on set.
While shooting in Kashmir, Sanjay was once sent by Sunil Dutt’s assistant to eat, even though it wasn’t break time. As he was eating, people rushed in to say, “Dutt Sahab is shouting.”
When Sanjay returned to the set, Sunil Dutt reprimanded him, saying, “The entire unit is here, and you went to eat? Have you become a star already?” However, later, when Sunil Dutt inquired with the assistant, the blame was placed entirely on Sanjay.
