Vikrant Massey Advocates Cycling for Health and Pollution Control at Sunday on Cycle Event

New Delhi, June 7: The 77th edition of the ‘Sunday on Cycle’ campaign was held at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, rebranded as ‘Fit India Sunday on Cycle.’ The event saw participation from Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Mansukh Mandaviya, actor Vikrant Massey, boxer Nupur Sheoran, and actress-model Ragini Dwivedi, along with a large crowd.

During the event, actor Vikrant Massey emphasized the importance of cycling, stating, “If we ride bicycles, there will be no pollution. In fact, cycling is the solution to pollution. It keeps us healthy too.”

He further explained that cycling is not only vital for health but also essential for the environment. “It’s common sense. If we cycle, pollution will decrease, and that is our solution to pollution. Your health will improve as well.” Massey praised the government’s initiative, mentioning that the Fit India app tracks the kilometers cycled, allowing users to earn carbon points, which can lead to rewards from government partners.

He expressed hope that this initiative would encourage the younger generation to embrace cycling. Massey shared a heartwarming moment from the event, noting that the youngest cyclist was just 20 months old. “A 20-month-old child, not even two years old, was trying to pedal with their feet. That’s truly amazing.”

The aim of the event was to instill a cycling habit among people, reduce pollution, improve health, and raise awareness about environmental protection. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya also supported the campaign, urging people to cycle regularly. All attendees highlighted cycling as a healthy, pollution-free, and enjoyable activity.
