
Patna, April 14: Following Nitish Kumar’s resignation as Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary has been elected as the leader of the BJP legislative party in Bihar. This decision paves the way for Chaudhary to potentially become the Chief Minister of Bihar. Upon his election, he expressed gratitude to the central leadership of the party.
In an interview, Chaudhary stated, “I have been a political worker for the past thirty years. My responsibilities may change, but my commitment to Bihar remains steadfast. I will continue to work for the betterment of the state.”
On social media platform X, he shared a post thanking the party high command. He wrote, “I sincerely thank the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party for entrusting me with the responsibility of leader of the BJP Bihar legislative party. This role is not just a position for me; it is a sacred opportunity to serve the people of Bihar and fulfill their dreams. I pledge to meet the expectations of the public with complete dedication, commitment, and integrity.”
Chaudhary also emphasized his commitment to advancing Bihar under the capable leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of National President Nitin Nabin. “I will continuously strive to take Bihar to new heights of development, good governance, and prosperity. Your love, blessings, and support are my greatest strength,” he added.
Additionally, he reshared a post from Nitish Kumar, expressing confidence that under Kumar’s guidance, Bihar will continue to progress. “Your successful tenure and model of good governance are a source of inspiration,” he remarked.
Earlier, a meeting of the legislative party was held at the BJP office in Patna, led by state observer and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. All major leaders, including Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha, were present. After a unanimous decision, Chouhan announced Chaudhary’s name as the leader.
With Chaudhary’s election as the leader of the legislative party, congratulations and best wishes have started pouring in. Upendra Kushwaha, president of the National Lok Morcha, extended his congratulations. Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi also congratulated Chaudhary, stating on X, “Heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Samrat Chaudhary on being elected as the leader of the Bihar BJP legislative party. Congratulations on Bihar’s new Samrat.”
