Now, his son is following in his footsteps. Rocky Flintoff has shattered a 136-year-old record by scoring a century for Lancashire.
Rocky Flintoff scored 123 runs off 76 balls against Somerset in the One-Day Cup. His innings included 10 fours and seven sixes. This century, achieved at the age of 18 years and 126 days, marks Rocky’s first for the senior team, making him the youngest centurion for Lancashire.
Previously, Archie MacLaren held the record for the youngest century-maker for Lancashire. In 1890, MacLaren scored 106 runs at the age of 18 years and 256 days in Hove.
Rocky Flintoff is considered a highly talented cricketer, with expectations that he will represent the England team in the future. He has consistently demonstrated this potential through his performances.
Rocky first caught the cricketing world’s attention at the age of 16, having already scored a century for the England Under-19 team. Earlier this year, he also scored a century for the Lions against Cricket Australia XI, under the coaching of his father. The century against Somerset is his first in senior cricket.
