New Delhi, August 12: Ahead of Independence Day, the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Cycle Rally’ was held at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in the national capital. Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya participated in the event.
Mansukh Mandaviya stated, “In Delhi, over 1,000 ‘My India’ volunteers spread the message of fitness through the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Cycle Rally.’ For a country to develop, it is essential that its citizens remain healthy. Cycling enhances fitness, addresses pollution and traffic congestion, conserves fuel, and aids in environmental protection.”
Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu remarked, “On this auspicious occasion of freedom, our youth organized a cycling rally, ‘Har Ghar Tiranga,’ under the leadership of Minister Mansukh Mandaviya. The aim of this rally is to encourage every young person to stay fit. When our youth are fit, our country will also be fit.”
Bronze medalist at the Asian Games, Ramit Tandon, also joined the rally. He expressed, “It is wonderful to see so many people cycling, especially after Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Fit India program. The Sports Minister emphasized that cycling is crucial for maintaining fitness. Nowadays, with rising transport and fuel costs, cycling is the most environmentally friendly mode of transport. What could be more prideful than celebrating August 15, the day we commemorate the freedom that allows us to live freely today?”
As Independence Day approaches, Delhi Police have heightened security throughout the capital. In Uttam Nagar, police teams are conducting thorough checks overnight. Vehicles are being meticulously searched, and major roads are under surveillance to prevent illegal movement and maintain law and order.
Additionally, a ‘Har Ghar Tiranga Bike Rally’ is also being organized at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi as part of the Independence Day celebrations.
