RJDs Integrity Under Scrutiny: Mritunjay Tiwari Questions Leadership After Resignation

Patna, July 19: Mritunjay Tiwari, the former spokesperson of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has raised significant concerns about the party’s leadership and its role in the opposition following his resignation. He affirmed his decision to step down from all party positions, stating that he sees no possibility of returning.

In a conversation with a news agency, Tiwari expressed disappointment over the lack of respect for dedicated, honest, and loyal party workers. He noted that if the situation had been addressed in a timely manner, it might have been different, but now it is too late.

Tiwari pointed out that Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition and a two-time Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, has overseen a disappointing performance in recent elections. He emphasized the need for a serious review of the reasons behind the electoral losses and accountability for those responsible.

He remarked that the influence of Lalu Prasad Yadav within the party has diminished, and those tasked with political strategies have failed to deliver the expected results.

Regarding the recent issue of the Ram Temple donation scandal, Tiwari stated that it is Rahul Gandhi’s right and duty as the opposition leader to seek answers from the government. However, he also suggested that Gandhi should visit Ayodhya to seek blessings from Lord Ram, which could send a positive message to devotees.

Commenting on the role of the opposition, Tiwari highlighted the importance of a strong and responsible opposition in a democracy. He argued that the opposition should question the government on public issues, but currently, they are entangled in internal conflicts and differences.

He noted that if the opposition cannot maintain its own parties, effectively challenging the government becomes difficult. A failure to fulfill their responsibilities could have repercussions for the democratic system.

On the upcoming Bankipur assembly by-election, Tiwari mentioned that this seat has been a stronghold for the BJP for nearly 35 years, with the public consistently supporting BJP candidates.

He concluded by stating that elections cannot be won through mere political maneuvering or event management. The electorate favors leaders who have worked on the ground and earned their trust over time.
