New Delhi, July 19: The police have solved a murder case involving a woman in Gautampuri, located on the third floor of Street Number 9. Within 48 hours, they arrested the husband implicated in the crime. The accused, identified as Salim, was apprehended in Moradabad.
According to police reports, on July 16 at approximately 7:32 PM, the Seelampur police station received a call regarding a woman’s murder in Gautampuri. A police team quickly arrived at the scene, where they found a 45-year-old woman severely injured and bleeding. She was rushed to JPC Hospital, where doctors pronounced her dead.
The crime team and forensic experts examined the scene, meticulously collecting evidence. The body was sent to GTB Hospital for a post-mortem examination. A case was registered, and an investigation commenced. During the initial inquiry, it was discovered that the victim’s husband, Salim, was missing, making him the primary suspect.
A dedicated team was formed to investigate the case. They reviewed CCTV footage from various locations, analyzed technical evidence, and confirmed information gathered through human intelligence. Continuous technical surveillance led the police to locate Salim (52) near Moradabad Railway Station, where he was arrested.
During interrogation, Salim confessed to the crime. He revealed that his wife had previously worked in a garment factory and that he had long suspected her of having an illicit relationship with a co-worker. This suspicion often led to domestic disputes between the couple.
On July 16, another heated argument erupted over this issue. In a fit of rage, Salim attacked his wife with scissors, causing her severe injuries. He then locked the door and fled the scene.
To evade arrest, Salim frequently changed his location, moving through Anand Vihar, Moradabad, Rampur, Bareilly, Shahjahanpur, and Lucknow, before returning to Moradabad, where he was finally apprehended. The scissors used in the murder and blood-stained clothing have been recovered.
