Patna, June 21: Shakti Singh Yadav, the chief spokesperson for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), has voiced strong criticism of the Bihar government regarding the re-examination of NEET-UG, the meetings of the JDU’s state and national councils, and allegations of fake encounters made by opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav.
In a conversation, Yadav commented on the judicial inquiry ordered into the Bharat Tiwari encounter case in Shahpur. He stated that this is the first examination in free India where the government has deployed the army. He questioned the competence of the exam controller, highlighting the repeated leaks of examination papers.
Regarding the JDU’s internal meetings, he expressed indifference but noted discussions about Nitish Kumar potentially being re-elected as national president. He suggested that if Kumar is not recognized, it might be better to appoint Nishant as the national president. He emphasized that if his party were to hold a meeting, such a situation would not arise.
Yadav supported Tejashwi Yadav’s claims of fake encounters, stating that Tejashwi has consistently raised this issue. He asserted that their party is not among those who ignore such matters. He emphasized that the RJD cares for the people of the state, and fake encounters are indicative of the government’s failures and the declining credibility of the police. He urged that there should not be mixed narratives regarding the issue of fake encounters.
On the judicial inquiry into the Bharat Tiwari encounter case in Bihar’s Shahpur, he expressed a desire for the truth to be revealed, stating that it is the government’s responsibility to decide who will conduct the investigation.
