Rishabh Pant Urges Fans to Support Indian Athletes at Asian Games 2026

New Delhi, September 18 (Daily Kiran) : Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has expressed his support for the Indian contingent participating in the Asian Games 2026. He appealed to fans across the country to cheer for the athletes and boost their morale during the international competition.

In a video shared on his Instagram account, Pant revealed his excitement for the upcoming games. He urged fans to rally behind Indian athletes and support them throughout the tournament. “I am very excited to watch the Asian Games. Let’s stand by our Indian athletes, support them, and hope they perform their best. No matter what, we must stand with them, boost their spirits, and provide full support,” he stated.

The Asian Games, Asia’s largest sporting event, occurs every four years and is organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The upcoming edition will feature athletes from 45 countries and regions competing in 43 sports. This marks the 20th edition of the games, and it will be Japan’s third time hosting after Tokyo in 1958 and Hiroshima in 1994.

India aims to surpass its record-breaking performance at the Hangzhou 2023 games, where it secured 28 gold medals among a total of 107 medals. The country currently holds titles in both men’s and women’s cricket and kabaddi, with the men’s hockey team also entering as reigning champions. PV Sindhu will lead India’s badminton campaign, while Mirabai Chanu will head the weightlifting team. Notable names in shooting include Manu Bhaker, and Aman Sahrawat will compete in wrestling, with Lovlina Borgohain showcasing her skills in boxing.

Over 75 Indian track and field athletes are set to participate in athletics, with key medal contenders like Gulveer Singh, Tejaswin Shankar, Murali Shreeshankar, Jyoti Yaaraji, and Parul Chaudhary. Tejinderpal Singh Toor arrives as a two-time defending champion in shot put. Manu Bhaker, a two-time Olympic medalist in pistol shooting, and shot putter Tejinderpal Singh Toor have been chosen as India’s flag bearers for the opening ceremony of the Asian Games.
