Every year on 23rd January, the entire nation commemorates the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose as ‘Parakram Diwas’. Early Cinematic Portrayals of Netaji

One of the earliest films based on Netaji’s life is the 1966 Bengali movie ‘Subhash Chandra’, directed by Piyush Bose. It starred Samar Kumar as Netaji and depicted his childhood, education, college days, and experiences with the Indian Civil Services examination. The film portrayed how a brilliant student gradually transformed into a revolutionary fighting for the nation’s freedom, presenting his formative years in a simple yet emotional manner.
