Chandigarh, April 3: The police have ramped up their efforts in response to the blast that occurred outside the BJP office in Sector 37, Chandigarh. Recent reports indicate that two individuals have been arrested in connection with the incident. Authorities are currently interrogating the suspects.
Earlier, police conducted a raid in Ratangarh village near Morinda. However, the search yielded minimal evidence, causing the investigation to slow down. The recent arrests have brought a new development to the case. It has been reported that one of the suspects was found with items stored in a yellow envelope. Nonetheless, the police have yet to provide official confirmation regarding this discovery.
Sources identify the arrested suspects as Aman and Gurtej, both residents of the Morinda area. The police are now working to understand their network and the conspiracy behind the attack.
Notably, the explosion occurred around 5 PM on April 1 outside the Chandigarh BJP office, causing panic in the vicinity. Subsequently, a video surfaced that intensified the investigation. The footage clearly shows an individual removing a grenade from his pocket, pulling the pin, and throwing it outside the BJP office. After the explosion, both attackers fled the scene.
The video also reveals that the suspects escaped on a motorcycle. Currently, the police are conducting an in-depth investigation to uncover the individuals involved and their motives behind the attack.
