Mumbai, April 2: Actor Abhishek Bachchan is gearing up to make his debut in Marathi cinema with the film ‘Raja Shivaji.’ Produced by Mumbai Film Company and Jio Studios, Abhishek will portray the powerful role of Sambhaji Shahaji Bhosale.
The film’s first look teaser was recently released and has received a warm reception from audiences. Abhishek shared that this project is not just another film for him, but a significant experience. He mentioned, “Ritesh Deshmukh, whom I consider my brother, has been dreaming of this film for many years. I first met Ritesh about 25 years ago while shooting for ‘Jameen’ in Latur. At that time, he told me he wanted to make a film on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.”
Abhishek further stated that Ritesh Deshmukh is directing the film, which he believes is an ambitious project for Marathi cinema. He expressed confidence in Ritesh’s directorial skills, saying, “Ritesh has proven his excellence in his previous film. I am sure ‘Raja Shivaji’ will be a milestone for Marathi cinema. I am thrilled to be a part of this film.”

The film, which narrates the grand story of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s legacy and the establishment of Swarajya, features music by Ajay-Atul. Jyoti Deshpande and Genelia Deshmukh are producing the film under the banners of Jio Studios and Mumbai Film Company.
