Noida, June 3: Residents of the National Capital Region (NCR) can expect relief from the intense heat and strong sunlight in the coming days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather will remain relatively pleasant until June 7, with maximum temperatures unlikely to exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
The weather department has issued a yellow alert for June 4, warning of thunderstorms, strong winds, and light rain. On June 3, several areas may experience cloud cover, lightning, and light rainfall.
The IMD reports that due to the influence of a western disturbance and local weather activities, the weather in NCR will be more favorable than usual during the first week of June. This change will provide relief from the scorching heat.
On June 3, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be around 27 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels may range between 70 and 45 percent. The weather department predicts a chance of very light to light rain accompanied by thunderstorms during the day. Lightning and rainfall activities may occur in the afternoon and evening.
For June 4, the IMD forecasts a maximum temperature of 38 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels could fluctuate between 80 and 50 percent. Thunderstorms and light rain may begin early in the morning, with strong winds expected to reach speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour in the afternoon and evening. Residents are advised to avoid open spaces and standing under trees.
On June 5, the weather is expected to remain unsettled, with a maximum temperature of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius. Humidity levels may range from 80 to 50 percent. The IMD indicates a possibility of very light to light rain with thunderstorms in the morning, afternoon, and evening, which will help control temperatures and prevent extreme heat despite humidity.
June 6 is expected to bring some improvement in the weather, with maximum temperatures around 38 degrees Celsius and minimum temperatures at 28 degrees Celsius. The sky will be partially cloudy, and no warnings have been issued for this day.
The IMD had previously indicated that residents of NCR could expect relief from severe heat and heatwaves during the first week of June. The latest forecast reinforces this expectation, as continuous cloud cover, light rain, and strong winds have kept temperatures below normal. Therefore, residents in Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad, Delhi, Faridabad, and Gurugram can look forward to relatively pleasant weather in the coming days.
