Re-NEET UG 2026: Students Face Pressure Amidst Hope for Better Performance

New Delhi, June 21: The Re-NEET UG 2026 examination is currently underway, following a paper leak controversy that led to its rescheduling. While candidates entered the exam halls with hopes of improved performance, the mental pressure and uncertainty were palpable. Enhanced security measures were implemented at examination centers to prevent any potential disruptions.

A candidate from Amritsar expressed feeling more anxious this time compared to the first exam. He noted that the previous paper was relatively easier, but there are concerns that the rescheduled exam may prove to be more challenging. He remarked that incidents like the paper leak should not occur, but acknowledged that the NTA is working to strengthen its security protocols.

Another candidate from Patiala shared his disappointment upon hearing about the paper leak, as he felt he had a good chance of passing. Meanwhile, a student from Mohali commented on the robust security measures in place, suggesting that the likelihood of another leak seems minimal. He added that the government is also taking steps to safeguard students’ futures. However, he cautioned that any further issues would be a serious concern, given the stakes involved for millions of students.

A candidate from Chandigarh mentioned that this is his first attempt at the exam. He had previously taken the NEET 2026 but felt his efforts were compromised due to the paper leak. He described retaking the exam as akin to a fresh first attempt. He felt confident about his performance but never anticipated the chaos caused by the leak.

In the meantime, Anuj Kumar, an NTA supervisor in Chandigarh, reported that a three-tier security system has been implemented for the examination. Police and CRPF personnel are stationed in the control room, and the entire premises are under constant surveillance via CCTV cameras.

A candidate from Karnal expressed his initial disappointment over the paper leak, as he believed he had performed well. He acknowledged that preparing again was not easy, but noted that all students have worked hard once more and wished everyone good luck.
