Mumbai, June 29: Actor and politician Ravi Kishan recently shared his experiences of struggle and perseverance, recalling how he was often mocked by rising stars in the 1990s. Speaking to fellow contestants on the reality show ‘Alliance,’ where he is also a participant, Ravi opened up about his decades-long journey before achieving recognition.
Ravi stated, “I encountered many individuals who used to ridicule me. They were becoming stars in the 90s, and I could see them progressing.”
He explained that he dedicated years to preparing himself for the industry, learning every skill necessary for an actor. “I had a good voice. I was skilled in horse riding, action, Urdu, and Hindi. I did theater and learned dance. I was fully prepared. Yet, I lagged behind while others advanced. I kept telling myself that if their time had come, mine would come too. Little did I know it would take 34 years,” he added.
Ravi noted that his fortunes changed when his performances received widespread acclaim and success. “What happened next occurred 34 years later. That year, I won all the ‘Best Actor’ awards. I stood on stages where I had never been invited before. People used to mock me, doubting my potential. But today, here I am,” he remarked.
His story of patience, determination, and hard work inspired his fellow contestants, leaving them in awe.
Ravi Kishan began his acting career in the early 90s with Hindi films like ‘Pitaambar,’ ‘Aatank,’ ‘Army,’ and ‘Zakhmi Dil.’ Although he appeared in several Bollywood projects, it was the Bhojpuri film industry that established him as one of its biggest superstars.
With hits like ‘Saiyaan Hamaar’ and ‘Pandit Ji Batai Na Biyaah Kab Hoi,’ he became one of the most influential faces in Bhojpuri cinema. In recent years, Ravi has reinvented himself with remarkable performances in Hindi cinema and OTT platforms.
His role in ‘Lapata Ladies’ received critical acclaim, earning him multiple awards. Additionally, his work in the web series ‘Khaki: The Bihar Chapter’ showcased his versatility as an actor.
