After much anticipation, Ranveer Singh’s highly awaited film ‘Dhurandhar’ was released in cinemas on December 5. The action-thriller made a spectacular start at the box office, exceeding audience expectations with its impressive performance. The film not only recorded the biggest opening of Ranveer’s career but also secured a strong position among the highest first-day earners of 2025.

Before its release, advance bookings had already created a buzz in the market. ‘Dhurandhar’ raised approximately ₹9 crore through pre-bookings alone. It was expected to earn between ₹15 to ₹20 crore on the first day. However, the film shattered all predictions by doubling those figures at the box office on day one.

According to a report by Sacnilk, ‘Dhurandhar’ earned ₹27 crore on its opening day in India. This marks Ranveer Singh’s biggest opening to date, surpassing his previous blockbuster ‘Padmaavat’. Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film features Ranveer alongside Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, Akshay Khanna, and R. Madhavan in significant roles. The film was screened around 13,000 times across the country and is estimated to have a production budget of approximately ₹280 crore.
