West Indies Equal T20 Series Against India with Key Performance from Keemo Paul

Keemo Paul shines with 5 wickets as West Indies defeat India by 24 runs, leveling the T20 series at 2-2.

Hyderabad, October 15 (Daily Kiran) : West Indies leveled the T20 series against India at 2-2 with a 24-run victory on Wednesday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. A standout performance came from fast bowler Keemo Paul, who took five wickets for 41 runs in his four overs, playing a crucial role in the team’s success.

After the match, Paul expressed his joy, saying, “We won, so I’m very, very happy. Our simple plan is to try to bowl yorkers, and if that doesn’t work, we adjust. The pitch provided some assistance, and the slower balls were gripping a bit, so we were just trying to keep the batsmen guessing.”

Reflecting on his return to the West Indies team and his significant contribution to the win, Paul added, “I have to thank God for keeping me healthy. I just want to contribute to the team. We have good players, and Shai Hope played exceptionally well. We’re really playing well and were ready to fight in this T20 series. Bowling on these wickets isn’t easy, but you have to trust yourself. I did well tonight, and I’m very happy with that.”

Paul noted the team’s enthusiasm, stating, “The players were very pumped. We got the job done. Hopefully, this will work for us in the next game. Motie bowled well too. I think we are a confident team. All the players trust our skills, and we believe we can beat any team on our day. It’s all about staying calm and believing in ourselves, and I think we’re doing that really well.”

In the match, after losing the toss, West Indies batted first and scored 247 runs, thanks to Shai Hope’s unbeaten 102 runs off 50 balls. The Indian team managed 223 runs, resulting in their 24-run defeat.

The fifth and decisive T20 match is scheduled to take place on October 17 in Bengaluru.
