Mumbai, August 13: Mahant Raju Das, the head priest of Hanumangarhi in Ayodhya, has voiced strong opposition to the ongoing discussions regarding the appointment of a CEO for the Ram Temple. He emphasized that a temple should not be treated as a commercial center. Positions related to the management and service of sacred sites like the Ram Janmabhoomi should prioritize individuals who possess a genuine spirit of devotion.
Das also criticized opposition leaders, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, for their silence on the student protests in Jharkhand, labeling it as selective thinking.
Regarding the CEO appointment at the Ram Temple, Das stated that the temple should not be viewed through a commercial lens. It serves as a center for devotion and faith, and therefore, individuals working there must embody a spirit of religious service. He pointed out that during the month of Sawan, the devotion shown to God in Ayodhya is profound. True service to God goes beyond mere formal rituals; it requires heartfelt dedication.
Das highlighted that the Ram Janmabhoomi is the birthplace of Lord Ram. Thus, individuals with a service-oriented mindset should be entrusted with responsibilities at such a sacred site. He questioned why there should not be a need for someone with a genuine spirit of devotion in administrative roles at the temple. The Ram Janmabhoomi is not an ordinary institution; it is a center of faith for millions of devotees. While modern management practices can be applied, the core essence of devotion and service must remain intact.
On the issue of student protests in Jharkhand, Das raised questions about the inaction of opposition leaders. He specifically mentioned Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav, asking where they were during the student protests. He noted that the opposition tends to respond selectively to various issues. Many leaders are quick to voice support for specific groups or individuals, but their silence on the concerns of Jharkhand’s students is notable.
Das asserted that the demands of students should be taken seriously, as they are also children of the nation, and their future is at stake. The students in Jharkhand are calling for action against employees allegedly involved in examination fraud and irregularities. He questioned why opposition leaders are not rallying in support of these students. Jharkhand is part of India, and its students are citizens deserving of national attention for their issues.
He accused political parties and leaders of adopting a selective approach to issues. Some leaders support individuals accused of anti-national slogans, violence, and derogatory comments against the Prime Minister and Brahmins, yet they remain silent when it comes to supporting students who peacefully express their demands. If the students of Jharkhand are advocating for their rights without vandalism or violence, then leaders should also step forward to support them.
Mahant Raju Das urged that the students of Jharkhand are also children of the nation, and their concerns should not be overlooked. He appealed to the country’s leaders and political parties to consider such matters impartially rather than through a political lens. While political ideologies may differ, the future and issues of students should be prioritized above party politics. If there are complaints of irregularities or fraud in examinations, it is every student’s right to demand a fair investigation and accountability for those responsible.
