Chandigarh, August 13: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has instructed officials to devise a special action plan to complete essential infrastructure facilities, such as electricity and water supply, within three months at the upcoming Global City in Faridabad.
He also directed them to prepare a plan for constructing a world-class iconic tower within the Global City.
These directives were issued during the fourth meeting convened to review the state progress portal. Additionally, Saini emphasized the need for an action plan to expand the Pinjore airstrip.
The Chief Minister stated that the completion of Global City will not only provide modern infrastructure but will also create better employment opportunities for the youth. The project is being developed over 1,000 acres at a cost of ₹1,000 crores, with 80% of the physical progress already completed. He assured that the remaining work would be finished by December.
Saini highlighted that Global City is being developed as a smart and planned urban center. It will feature educational and health institutions, malls, theaters, luxury hotels, community centers, marriage palaces, and other amenities. The city will also be served by the Namo Bharat Metro train.
A dedicated water treatment plant and a green lake will be developed. Furthermore, work will be undertaken to connect the city to the Dwarka Expressway for seamless transportation.
He mentioned that an Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub has been established in Nangal Chaudhary. The work related to electricity, irrigation, roads, external rail siding, and internal rail yard has been completed. An internal in-motion weighbridge is also being installed at the logistics hub, which will be ready in six months. The Chief Minister will welcome a special train operating from this facility on August 23.
In Hisar, significant infrastructure development is underway at the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC). The IMC will include a skill development center, convention center, exhibition hall, logistics park, and multi-specialty hospital, along with facilities for defense and aerospace, agro-food processing, garment and textile industries, and other industrial units.
