Raju Das Calls for Government Awareness on Prayer Controversy in Bareilly

Ayodhya, April 2: In light of recent events surrounding the offering of prayers in Bareilly, Mahant Raju Das, the priest of Hanumangarhi Temple, expressed his concerns. He stated that it is surprising that in a predominantly Hindu area, there are reports of a Muslim household where extremists have allegedly conspired to incite people. This has led to gatherings for prayers at the home of Muslims, raising significant concerns.

Mahant Raju Das emphasized the need for the government to take notice of this situation. He also urged social organizations to step forward and address the issue.

Arya Saint Varun Das Maharaj commented on the matter, stating that private worship at home is acceptable. However, if a crowd gathers at someone’s home for prayers, it suggests a different intention that could disturb the local community. He called for an investigation into the situation.

Mahant Sitaram Das from Saket Bhawan Temple in Ayodhya praised the court’s decision and questioned those who wish to pray at home. He asked whether the Quran permits public prayers and if such practices are mentioned in their holy text.

It is noteworthy that the Allahabad High Court recently heard a petition regarding the alleged obstruction of prayers in a Bareilly home. The court instructed the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police not to take action, provided that no crowd would gather. The division bench concluded the petition, acknowledging affidavits indicating that prayers were previously conducted at another person’s residence.
