New Delhi, April 1: Central Minister Harsh Malhotra has expressed serious concerns regarding the declining law and order situation in Punjab, particularly in light of a recent explosion. He criticized local ministers for their inappropriate behavior with officials, which often leads to their apprehension.
Malhotra highlighted the alarming rise in drug trafficking in the state, noting that Punjab’s youth are increasingly getting involved in substance abuse. He accused the Punjab government of inaction on this pressing issue. The recent blast in Chandigarh raises significant questions about the government’s effectiveness. He condemned the incident and warned that the people of Punjab might soon show the ruling party the same door as the Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Dinesh Sharma described the explosion outside the BJP office in Chandigarh as unfortunate. He urged the state government to enhance its vigilance, stating that the central government is always ready to assist when necessary. He pointed out that there are elements in Punjab that do not desire peace.
Regarding the passage of the CAPF bill, Sharma noted that it was approved today by a voice vote. This legislation will invigorate paramilitary forces by addressing their previous disparities caused by differing laws. The government is committed to advancing their prosperity.
BJP leader Chetan Joshi commented on the blast outside their office, stating that party workers were present and actively engaged in their duties at the time. He expressed concern over why the BJP seems to be specifically targeted.
Punjab BJP Vice President Subhash Sharma condemned the incident as extremely unfortunate and reprehensible. He emphasized that the BJP has always advocated for the unity and integrity of the nation, which is why forces aiming to weaken this unity continuously target the party.
