Rajeev Khandelwal Reflects on Early Career Struggles and Parental Support

Mumbai, June 23: Actor Rajeev Khandelwal recently opened up about the challenges he faced in the early days of his acting career. During an episode of the reality show “Tum Ho Na – Ghar Ki Superstar,” he revealed that his parents were initially unsupportive of his decision to pursue acting. However, over time, as they recognized his seriousness about his career choice, their perspective began to change.

Khandelwal shared a personal experience, stating, “When I dreamed of becoming an actor, I received no support from home at first. My parents wanted me to choose a safer career. But I didn’t abandon my passion for acting and continued to work hard. Eventually, my father started to understand that I was serious about it.”

He added, “My father later realized that if he hadn’t tried to stop me initially, I wouldn’t have wasted 4-5 years of my career. He regretted that, but eventually, the entire family supported me.”

In the same episode, contestant Priya also shared her inspiring story. She expressed her long-standing desire to become a background dancer, despite her father’s opposition. Undeterred by her family’s disagreement, she remained committed to fulfilling her dream.

Priya’s mother proudly mentioned that her daughter has worked with several big Bollywood stars. She highlighted Priya’s performances as a dancer in popular songs like “Ghaghra” with Madhuri Dixit, “Fevicol Se” with Kareena Kapoor, and “Deewani Mastani” with Deepika Padukone.

Later, Rajeev Khandelwal engaged in a conversation with Priya’s father, asking if his viewpoint had changed. He acknowledged that every parent makes mistakes at times. “Over time, I realized that my daughter’s dream was not wrong, and now I fully support her,” he stated.
