Mumbai, July 22: Lyricist and writer Manoj Muntashir expressed his views on student protests and the alleged NEET paper leak controversy on Wednesday. He supported the demonstrations at Jantar Mantar and urged the government to take strict action regarding the NEET paper leak.
In a statement on Instagram, Muntashir criticized certain media outlets, stating, “Some media houses are desperately trying to prove that I am not with the students. For the record, consider this post my official stance. I stand 100% with the students and their pain. The NEET paper leak is an unforgivable crime, and it is the government’s responsibility to punish the guilty. We will continue to hold the government accountable.”
He added, “Once again, the pain of youth and students has been hijacked by politics. The real issues were not discussed at Jantar Mantar. Anti-India forces have manipulated students for their own agendas. Those who initiated the movement abandoned the students. I urge the Indian government to understand the betrayal felt by students and promise to raise their voices on every platform, both nationally and globally.”
It is noteworthy that Muntashir previously clarified his position after an interview where he denied supporting the student protests at Jantar Mantar and targeted some leaders of the demonstration.
He condemned the paper leak as entirely wrong, stating that if this controversy has cost even one student their life, the entire system is responsible. He made it clear that while he supports the concerns of the students, he would never participate in the ongoing protests at Jantar Mantar.
Muntashir accused the movement’s platform of being hijacked by individuals who make anti-India statements, chant slogans like ‘India will be divided,’ and do not recognize Kashmir as part of India, while also making offensive comments about Lord Ram.
