Jaipur, April 16: The Rajasthan Police celebrated its 77th Foundation Day with great pride and enthusiasm on Thursday. A grand state-level ceremony was held at the Rajasthan Police Academy, attended by Chief Guest Bhajanlal Sharma, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan.
The Chief Minister’s arrival at the venue was a highlight, as he arrived accompanied by the police motorcycle battalion and mounted officers. He reviewed the parade and honored the courage, dedication, and commitment of the state’s police personnel.
On this special occasion, the Chief Minister launched a significant initiative for the welfare of police personnel by unveiling the Rajasthan Police Pensioners Portal, linked to the RajCop Citizen App. This portal will enable thousands of retired police officers and their families to access digital services from the comfort of their homes. It aims to simplify and enhance transparency in pension-related processes, eliminating the need for elderly pensioners to visit government offices.
During the Foundation Day ceremony, three ordinary citizens who made notable contributions to social service were also honored. The Chief Minister awarded certificates of appreciation to Prakash Prajapati from Sirohi, Surjeet Kashyap from Jhalawar, and Sindhu Binujeet, a child protection advisor from Udaipur. They were selected for their exemplary social work under the guidance of Additional Director General of Police (Personnel) Biju George Joseph.
Particular praise was given to Sindhu Binujeet for her initiatives, including ‘Vatsal Varta’ and ‘Bal Mitra Thane,’ launched in collaboration with UNICEF since 2010 to combat child labor and migration in tribal areas of Dungarpur. Her efforts have fostered trust among children towards the police and reduced fear. In 2015, the then Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje recognized this model and directed its implementation across the state.
Various programs were organized across the state to mark the Foundation Day. Parades, tree planting, award ceremonies, and blood donation camps took place in several districts, including Kota, Kotputli, Banswara, and Dungarpur, with enthusiastic participation from police personnel. This event not only commemorated the glorious history of the police force but also conveyed a message of strengthening trust between the community and the police.
