Jaipur, 2 January. Following irregularities detected in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS), the Rajasthan Medical and Health Department has taken strict action. Last week, First Information Reports (FIRs) were filed against four medicine shops, and two others have been suspended from the scheme.

Officials stated that actions have been initiated against six medicine shops in total. Fourteen employees have been suspended, and letters have been issued to concerned departments demanding departmental action and recovery from 19 RGHS cardholders.

Gayatri Rathore, Principal Secretary of the Medical and Health Department, said the state government follows a zero-tolerance policy towards any irregularity, corruption, or misuse in welfare schemes like RGHS.

She added that strict action is being ensured against all involved, with continuous measures to increase transparency and effectively prevent irregularities. These include filing FIRs and adopting technological interventions to strengthen the scheme.

Harjeelal Atal, CEO of Rajasthan State Health Insurance Agency, informed that FIRs were filed against Harikrishna Medical Store and Sanwariya Pharma Store in Bhilwara for serious irregularities.

He said that the licenses of these two shops were cancelled by the Additional Drug Controller. The shops allegedly committed fraud by falsely claiming sales of medicines and injections under RGHS without actually purchasing any, thereby illegally receiving around Rs 27 lakh.

Similarly, a FIR has been registered against Confed Pharma Store located in Ren and Jayal of Nagaur district for tampering with RGHS prescriptions and fraudulent payments.

Confed Pharma Store No. 6 in Bikaner and Store No. 5 in Hanumangarh, involved in serious irregularities, have been suspended from the RGHS scheme.
