Jaipur, February 19: The Rajasthan Assembly witnessed a fierce debate regarding health services, with Congress MLA Ramkesh Meena accusing the Health Minister of misleading the house.
Meena claimed that the Health Minister mocked the information presented in the assembly, asserting that the relevant details had already been verified, which he deemed completely false. He described this as an attempt to confuse the house and emphasized the need for all members to collaborate to prevent such situations in the future.
He further accused the government of evading accountability and trying to sidestep critical issues. According to Meena, the government is distracting the public from corruption issues and this behavior will not be tolerated.
Congress MLA Rafiq Khan also raised concerns about the government’s responses. He stated that the entire assembly was misled and highlighted ongoing reports in newspapers about the difficulties faced by patients and the backlog of surgeries. He described this as a serious situation.
Khan pointed out that when he inquired about the Critical Care department, the minister responded that there was no Critical Care department within Medicine. He found this response alarming and accused the government of being insensitive.
Following these allegations in the assembly, the debate over government accountability in the state has intensified. The opposition has accused the government of lacking transparency and ignoring public issues, while the ruling party has yet to provide a detailed response.
