Bhopal, October 15 (Daily Kiran): Even after the monsoon’s withdrawal from Madhya Pradesh, light rainfall is expected to continue in the southern parts of the state for the next few days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a three-day rain alert for several districts of Indore, Narmadapuram, and Jabalpur divisions, predicting light showers with thunder between October 15 and 17.

Meanwhile, other regions including Bhopal, Ujjain, and Gwalior are likely to witness clear skies and bright sunshine. With the change in wind direction following fresh snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, colder air is sweeping into Madhya Pradesh, bringing a noticeable drop in night temperatures.
According to the Met Department, southern districts will experience occasional drizzle and thunder today (Wednesday), while the rest of the state will remain dry.
Night temperatures have fallen below 20°C across most parts of the state. On Tuesday night, Bhopal recorded 16°C, Indore 17.2°C, Gwalior 18.2°C, Ujjain 18.8°C, and Jabalpur 19.6°C. In other districts, Khandwa reported 15°C, Rajgarh — the coldest in the state — recorded 14.4°C, followed by Shivpuri (16°C), Naugaon (15.1°C), Rewa (17.5°C), and Tikamgarh (17.7°C).
Meteorologists have forecast dry weather for most parts of the state after October 17, but cool nights are expected to persist as winter conditions begin to set in gradually.
