Pune, August 22: Political tensions are rising ahead of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Students’ Voice’ program scheduled in Pune. Sanjay Raut, a member of the Rajya Sabha from Shiv Sena (UBT), claims that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is fearful of this event.
Raut stated, “Rahul Gandhi is coming to Pune for the ‘Students’ Voice’ program. Thousands of students, especially girls, will participate and engage in discussions with him.”
He emphasized Pune’s historical significance, noting, “This city was the birthplace of the freedom movement. The voice of students will resonate from here and spread across the nation, which is why the BJP is anxious.”
Raut expressed his dissatisfaction with the conditions imposed by the police. He remarked, “As the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha and a respected national leader, Rahul Gandhi deserves better treatment. The police have set over 30 conditions for his visit. Prime Ministers and Home Ministers come here without such restrictions. Is this how we treat the Leader of the Opposition in a democracy?”
It is noteworthy that Rahul Gandhi will participate in the ‘Students’ Voice’ program on August 22, 2026. The event is set to take place from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM at the SSPMS College Ground near RTO Chowk.
The ‘Students’ Voice’ initiative was launched by Rahul Gandhi on June 17, 2026, in Kota, Rajasthan. Its primary aim is to address issues affecting youth and students, including paper leaks, exam cancellations, delays in recruitment processes, and unemployment. Following Kota, similar events were held in Dehradun on July 17, Prayagraj on August 8, and now in Pune on August 22.
