Body of 20-Year-Old Found in Cooling Pond in Bokaro, Suspected Suicide

Bokaro, September 11 (Daily Kiran) : In Bokaro, Jharkhand, the discovery of a 20-year-old man’s body in a cooling pond near the General Hospital has sent shockwaves through the community. The deceased has been identified as Rohan Kalindi, a resident of Sector 9, Street 11, housing number 134. He was a student at City College.

On Friday, while patrolling the area, officers from the Tiger Mobile unit were alerted by local residents about a body floating in the cooling pond. The police promptly arrived and, with the help of the community, retrieved the body from the water.

Rohan had been missing since Thursday evening. His family searched extensively for him but could not locate him. Later that night, his hat and sandals were found near the cooling pond. On Friday morning, his body was spotted floating in the water, prompting locals to contact the authorities. Rohan’s uncle, Ashok Kalindi, shared that he was the youngest in the family and was pursuing his graduation at City College.

According to family members, Rohan had been unusually quiet in recent days. Whenever he faced difficulties, he would visit his uncle’s house in Sector 4. The news of his death devastated his family, who arrived at the scene and were inconsolable upon seeing his body.

Sub-Inspector M.A. Haq from Sector 4 police station stated that the initial investigation suggests a possible suicide, although the exact reasons behind Rohan’s actions remain unclear. The body has been sent for autopsy, and authorities are awaiting the report to uncover the true cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.
