Lucknow, August 22: The political landscape in Uttar Pradesh has intensified following remarks made by Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav about Jayant Chaudhary, the National Lok Dal (RLD) leader and Union Minister. After Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has also demanded an apology from Akhilesh.
Keshav Prasad Maurya took to social media platform X to express his views, stating, “Netaji’s earnings have been squandered by the brave SP. This is the absolute truth. However, this desperation has shattered Akhilesh Yadav’s morale to the extent that he resorts to attacking anyone among the forward, backward, and Dalit communities.”
He further criticized Akhilesh for making derogatory comments about Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, suggesting that the SP leader’s frustration was evident. Maurya remarked that the Saifai family owes a significant debt to the late ‘Bharat Ratna’ Chaudhary Charan Singh, which the SP cannot repay. He insisted that Akhilesh should promptly apologize to Jayant Chaudhary.
Maurya added, “Their desperation also lies in the fact that the ‘Triveni’ of forward, backward, and Dalit communities stands with the BJP. There is no doubt that the people of Uttar Pradesh will pack up the SP, which is mired in casteism and Muslim appeasement, and send them back to Saifai in 2027.”
Akhilesh Yadav had recently made comments, without naming anyone, suggesting that some individuals had come from nowhere and turned a small amount of money into something significant.
In response, Jayant Chaudhary took to X to counter Akhilesh’s remarks without naming him. He stated that if cheap words were to be exchanged in political battles, it would have been better to mention his name directly. He criticized the targeting of the Jat community, questioning the notion that they were taught the ABCs of politics. Chaudhary expressed that he has closely observed such arrogance, which he believes only leads to downfall.
Akhilesh’s statement comes at a time when the SP is working to strengthen its support base around the issues concerning the backward, Dalit, and minority communities. Following Jayant’s rebuttal, political exchanges between the two leaders have escalated.
