Rahul Gandhi Questions Prime Ministers Absence Amid Cylinder Crisis Protests

New Delhi, March 12: In a heated session on Thursday, opposition MPs created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha over the ongoing cylinder crisis in the country. They targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP government with fierce criticism.

Leader of the Opposition, Rahul Gandhi, spoke to the media, stating, “The Prime Minister claims there is no need to panic, yet he himself seems anxious. He is worried about the Epstein and Adani issues. He hasn’t been able to enter the House. You may have noticed that the Prime Minister’s chair was empty yesterday. While he tells the nation not to worry, he avoids the House.”

Congress MP Ujjwal Raman Singh commented outside the House, “How often has the Prime Minister attended sessions? A review of attendance from 2014 to 2024 is necessary. He appears in the House as rarely as one looks for the moon on Eid. He is present for only 10 minutes on the first day and again for just 10 minutes on the last day.”

Congress MP J.B. Mathur expressed, “We desire the so-called ‘successful’ approach that India claims to have, but we see no action. Where is this alleged success regarding the energy crisis? People are suffering, hotels are closing, and the domestic market is severely affected. It is crucial to address these concerns. Flights are limited, airfares are skyrocketing—these are the realities, yet the Prime Minister continues to make statements without any concrete decisions or meaningful government intervention.”

Congress MP Dharmvir Gandhi added, “We have our own needs and priorities, and we must also consider the international situation. It is essential to present India’s stance to the global community. The government has abandoned India’s long-standing policy of non-alignment, leading to disruptions in foreign affairs. To address this, we must convey our message to other countries while keeping national and party interests in mind. If you look at the Prime Minister’s foreign trips, he has made many visits, but during the Lok Sabha session, he spends very little time and provides no responses.”
